Ketta Ioannidou (born Nicosia, Cyprus) lives and works in New York. She holds an MFA from School of Visual Arts, New York, NY, and a BA (Honors) from Central Saint Martins of Art and Design, London, UK.

Migrating between water, sky and land, Ioannidou's work explores the relationships between movement, migration, nature and memory. Juxtaposing features from her place of origin and her country of residency, she extracts elements from her surrounding natural environment in her work, whether that is the waterfront in Brooklyn near her studio or the Mediterranean island of Cyprus where she grew up and simplifies them down to their essence: the colors, the feelings, the patterns. Florals turn to camouflage, sun rays convert to explosions and ocean waves spread like emotional ripples reflecting an inner state and the nature psychologically inside of us.

Through the interplay of abstract forms, vibrant colors, and layered compositions, Ioannidou’s work invites us into a realm of ethereal fluidity and introspection.
